The Erebuni Museum and its masterpieces.
The museum was built in 1968, during the commemoration and celebration of the 2750th Anniversary of Erebuni-Yerevan. The large numbers of exquisite artifacts that are stored in the museum are all from the fortress Erebuni. The name Yerevan itself evolved from the early Araratian name Erebuni. Once the center of trade and commerce, Erebuni was one of the most important outpost fortress-cities of the mighty Araratian Kingdom, established in 782 B.C. on a much earlier settlements ( dating back to early settlements of 5,000-6000 B.C.) by King Argishti the First of Ararat, Erebuni ceaselessly continued its existence up to the present day Yerevan for nearly 3,000 years.
